Newcastle United fans fumed on social media over Joselu being in the starting line-up for Saturday’s game against Brighton.
Supporters couldn’t understand Rafa Benitez’s decision and held nothing back when commenting on the player.
One fan begged club legend Alan Shearer to have word with Benitez about dropping the striker, and added better yet, get him off the wage bill.
The Magpies go into their game with Brighton only one point clear of the relegation zone, and know that if they fail to win, they could see sink as low as 19th, if other results go against them.
Newcastle United have won only one game out of their last 11 matches, having defeated West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium.
However, the Magpies won both games against Brighton last season when they met in the Championship.
Brighton also go into this game in poor form, having won just one of their last nine league and having only scored one goal in their last five matches.
If Newcastle United achieve victory it will be a personal landmark for Benitez, as it will be his 150th victory in the Premier League.
Benitez will be hoping his decision to start Joselu will prove to be right, even though fans have their doubts ahead of kick-off.
