Yahoo Sport report that manager Mourinho wants a new left-back, a winger and a central midfielder.
It is said that a transfer budget “in the region of €90million” has been agreed between the Portugese and United top brass for next month.
Mourinho is aware that City manager Pep Guardiola hopes to land defensive reinforcements and the club are also preparing a second bid for Arsenal talisman Alexis Sanchez, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
OPINION
Mourinho has a fine track record of extracting massive transfer budgets from his employers and, if this report is anything to go by, his powers of persuasion remain fully intact. But would the arrivals of a new left-back, winger and central midfielder next month be enough to haul back Man City in the title race? It is doubtful, especially given the difficulties of securing top-class players in the middle of the season. For example, is a club like Spurs really going to sell a key man like Danny Rose to United when they are targeting a top-four finish and have genuine Champions League ambitions?
