Jurgen Klopp has admitted he’s concerned that Mohamed Salah may miss Liverpool’s trip to Burnley after the striker started limping in the game against Leicester City.

The German manager saw Salah score a brace in order to help the Reds come from behind against Leicester City and win 2-1.

However, Klopp told The Sun that he feared the worst as he witnessed Salah limping near the end of the game.

“He was limping a little at the end of the game and that is never a good sign,” confessed Klopp.

“We have to check and see what he can do for the next match.”

Salah’s two goals against Leicester City moved him to within one league goal of Harry Kane, who currently leads the race for the Premier League’s golden boot.

If Salah was to miss the game against Burnley, it will be the first league game he hasn’t featured in for Liverpool after joining from AS Roma in the summer.

Opinion

Klopp is right to fear the worst because Burnley are a tough team to face without your top goalscorer. The only thing Klopp can take solace in, is that he isn’t short of attacking options and one of his other strikers may step up in Salah’s absence. For example, it’s been suggested by few pundits that Sadio Mane is jealous of the attention Salah has received this season, if this is actually true, than Mane could be spurred in to life against Burnley. As this would prove his side don’t rely on Salah. However, the best case scenario for Klopp would still be that Salah’s limping meant nothing and he is good to go for the Burnley clash.
