Everton appeared to have virtually sealed the signing of Cenk Tosun after he was spotted at a Turkish restaurant in London on New Year’s Eve.
The Turkish football Twitter account posted an image on Sunday that showed the Goodison target and Turkey international at an eaterie in Muswell Hill in what it reported would be a relief to Everton supporters.

It comes after widespread reports on Friday, including in the Times that the Merseyside club’s director of football Steve Walsh had jetted out to Turkey to wrap up the signing of Tosun from Besiktas amid fears that the transfer could be hijacked by rivals.
Manager Sam Allardyce admitted that the signing of the striker was “in the wind” for but the Times report Besiktas claim to have had enquiries from the likes of Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Roma.
The former Frankfurt striker has proven himself to be a goal machine with Besiktas this season, scoring 14 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions, with four of them coming in the Champions League group stages.
