Leeds United were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Friday night’s visitors Aston Villa at Elland Road in a fiercely-fought clash of the two Championship giants.

Thomas Christiansen’s side continued their recent improvement by dominating the first half and were good value for the emphatic Pontus Jansson header that put them 1-0 ahead at half-time.

But Villa, who had won nine out of 12 matches going into the showdown, fought back in the second period and substitute Henri Lansbury secured a share of the spoils with a fine driven finish from the edge of the box.

The draw for Leeds followed recent victories against Barnsley and Middlesbrough, and lifted them to seventh in the division, while Villa remain fourth and well placed for promotion.

United could not take all three points but it puts them in good heart for a friendlier run of fixtures up to the end of the year as hopes are reignited that they can push for promotion.

Here, This Is Futbol rates the Leeds players out of 10 for their performances against Villa, with a mainstay collecting the lowest mark and the highest points going to a young gun.
