Everton are in desperate need of a new striker to help solve their increasing problems in attack and youngster Breel Embolo from German club Schalke could be the perfect answer.

The Daily Mail claims that Premier League leaders Manchester City are currently keeping tabs on the 20-year-old as they look to continue their dominance.

He moved to Schalke back in 2016 from Swiss club Basel and cost £20million at the time.

Everton must try to challenge Man City for his signature and bring him to Goodison Park as soon as possible.

The Toffees have been unable to replace Romelu Lukaku in their side and a lack of goals played a big part behind Ronald Koeman’s dismissal as manager.

Oumar Niasse, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney have all been used at times to spearhead the attack, but the Merseyside club need to sign a main centre-forward.

Embolo is a very exciting upcoming talent in world football and already has 21 senior international caps for Scotland.

The centre-forward is renowned for having blistering pace and great strength, something that makes him a nightmare for defenders.

He also has great technical ability and has all the signs that he could succeed within the pressures of the Premier League.

First and foremost Everton need to bring in a natural striker to lead the line, which is exactly what the Schalke youngster would give.

Embolo is also a striker that is only going to get better with age and the Toffees helped sculpture Romelu Lukaku into the powerhouse he now is.

The 20-year-old has endured a frustrating time since his move to Germany mainly down to injury and Everton should try to tempt him with a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

He has shown in the past he can be efficient in front of goal, scoring 31 goals in just 94 games for Basel where he spent his whole playing career as a teenager.
