Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction that Steve McClaren has reportedly been approached to become their new manager.
Sky Sports claim on their website that the Scottish giants have made an informal approach to the 56-year-old and he is interested in holding talks about replacing Pedro Caixinha.
McClaren is currently working as a consultant for Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv after recently pulling out of the running to replace Ian Cathro as Hearts manager.
Rangers fans are unhappy at the prospect of the former Newcastle United, Wolfsburg, Twente and Derby County boss taking the reins, particularly after Graeme Murty has steadied the ship so impressively with two wins in caretaker charge..
Supporters think it would be a step backwards by the club, given that McClaren’s CV is not a glowing one and that he has a better reputation as a coach rather than a manager.

how can a team that’s all about winning even think about appointing a manager who’s as big a loser as Steve McClaren ffs

Would much rather Murty keep the job than have McCLaren as manager. He’s definitely not the man Rangers need
