Tottenham may be prepared to lose both midfielders Josh Onomah and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou in order to sign Watford attacker Richarlison, according to the Evening Standard.

The newspaper claims that Spurs are keen on landing the 20-year-old from Premier League rivals Watford after his impressive start in English football.

It is understood that it would be difficult for Mauricio Pochettino to sign his target, but that his side will monitor the Brazilian’s progress.

The report details that Spurs could help fund a deal for Richarlison by allowing either Onomah or N’Koudou to be part of a deal further down the line.

Onomah, 20, is currently on a season-long loan at Championship side Aston Villa and the midfielder is a product of the Spurs academy.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old N’Koudou has made just four senior appearances so far this campaign and the right-winger has struggled for minutes since he arrived in 2016.

Good move for Spurs?

Watford’s summer arrival Richarlison is lighting up the top flight and it is very wise for Spurs to monitor the talented attacker, who could work very well under Pochettino.

The attacker has scored four goals in his 12 games so far and he has vast potential to become a prolific goalscorer as he develops.

Spurs look destined to allow N’Koudou to leave and that would be a fair decision given the lack of quality he has showed since he joined.

However, allowing academy product Onomah to leave would be a colossal mistake and he must be kept at all costs.

The England Under-21 international is impressing at Villa with his creative play and could be the next off the production line to break into Spurs’ first team if given a chance.

Likely to happen?

Spurs’ interest in Richarlison seem genuine, but they know it will be very difficult to pull off a deal for him in the near future and next summer seems the most plausible.

N’Koudou could easily be used as a makeweight in the deal and his pace has the potential to hurt opponents, while Onomah could see his path to the first team blocked.

Onomah can only keep trying to impress on loan to convince Pochettino of his qualities or he could be another player to leave.
