Graeme Murty has revealed that Lee Wallace, Graham Dorrans and Jordan Rossiter are all stepping up their recovery from injury ahead of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership game at Dundee this Friday.

Skipper Wallace has been missing since mid-September after undergoing surgery on a groin injury, but a return date is yet to be set for the left-back.

Dorrans has been out with an ankle injury since Pedro Caixinha’s last game in charge, a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock, and Murty is also unsure when he will return to action.

Rossiter is on the way back from a long-term calf complaint, sustained two months ago, and Murty revealed fans are eager to welcome the young midfielder back to action.

He told Rangers official website: “Jordan Rossiter is progressing on. I get loads of Tweets all the time about how he is doing, and we are just having to make sure we keep Jordan informed, and make sure he is ready to go when his body is ready, and make sure we don’t get too frustrated as he could get really frustrated,” he explained.

When asked if he had a return date for Wallace, Murty said: “I don’t, and while I’m not relaxed about it, I know he is in really good hands. Stevie gives me really good reports on what he is doing and how he is progressing so we know when he is due to come back into training, he will be ready to handle the load.”

On Dorrans, he said: “Graham Dorrans has started the process on his ankle rehab, so that is an ongoing process. We’ll have more definitive dates as we see how he progresses through this phase.”

OPINION

Graeme Murty will be keen to see all three players make their return from injury. Skipper Wallace is obviously a key member of the squad, and Rangers will rely on his experience as they look to get their season back on track. Dorrans is a player that injects some much-needed quality into the Gers midfield, and has been a big loss for Murty recently. Rossiter is an exciting young prospect, and the fact that fans are asking after him is a good sign as he looks to make his mark at the club.
