Celtic suffered a humiliating 7-1 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in Paris on Wednesday night as they were yet again torn apart in the Champions League.

The Hoops crazily opened the scoring in the Parc des Princes through Moussa Dembele but it then developed into a mauling as Neymar and company strolled through the gears and the goals rained in.

While nobody was expecting the Hoops to take anything from a side who had yet to concede a goal in the Champions League this season, the manner of the performance will lead to question marks about the team and their preparation for Sunday’s Scottish League Cup final with Motherwell.

The torture has ended and Scottish champions can still qualify for the knockout stage of the Europa League if they avoid defeat to Anderlecht at Celtic Park in two weeks.

But Brendan Rodgers has must to ponder as he assesses what went wrong in Paris and how his team were mauled yet again.
