Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard has been named in Four Four Two‘s list of the 100 best teenagers in world football.

The prestigious magazine has placed Edouard, 19, in 91st position and predicted he could become a “key player” for the Scottish giants during his season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

Four Four Two described the France Under-19 international as a “tall, burly striker” who was “rightfully selected” as the best player of the 2015 European Under-17 Championship.

Eduoard was top scorer at that tournament with eight goals, the best-ever record in the competition, and scored his first Ligue 1 goal last season while on loan at Toulouse before joining Celtic in the summer window.

OPINION

Eduoard has found opportunities don’t knock too readily at Celtic, where his French countryman Moussa Dembele is the senior striker, ably backed up by Leigh Griffiths, the finest forward in Scotland. The loanee has accumulated just 192 minutes for Brendan Rodgers’ side and has made a reasonable impression with a debut goal and three assists. But there is a sense that he has yet to properly acclimatise to Scottish football. He must do quick, or his chance could soon pass him by.
