Spanish outfit Valencia are eyeing a January raid for Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that the La Liga club are prepared to reignite a move for the 28-year-old in January after a failed attempt to secure his services in the summer.

It is understood that Valencia value the France international at £22million and are preparing another raid.

The report details that Mauricio Pochettino will have a big decision to make over whether to keep the midfield powerhouse after his improved performances this season.

Good move for Spurs?

Sissoko has certainly failed to live up to the £30million Spurs originally paid for him, but he is quickly becoming an important player for them.

The versatile ace can play anywhere across the midfield and has been heavily used by Pochettino so far this campaign.

He endured a nightmare first campaign at the North London club, but is beginning to rediscover his top form and has been recalled to the France national squad as a result.

Spurs have a busy fixture load this year and should reject a potential £22million approach for Sissoko as he is playing an important role.

Likely to happen?

Sissoko’s dramatic turnaround at Spurs has been quite remarkable and has even managed to get on side with the supporters that once scrutinised him.

It appears unlikely that Pochettino would allow the midfielder to leave mid-season as his importance is clear at the start of the campaign.

The player would also be taking a major risk by joining a new club ahead of a World Cup next summer and will know he could book his seat on the plane if his encouraging performances for Spurs continue.
