Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane would prefer a move to Real Madrid over Barcelona if he is to leave next summer, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish outlet report that Kane has his heart set on a move to play with Cristiano Ronaldo in the capital, rather than a move to Catalonia to play with Lionel Messi.

Kane is said to have confessed to his ‘inner circle’ of his desire to play for Los Blancos alongside his ‘idol’ Ronaldo.

It is said that this would give Madrid chairman Florentino Perez an advantage in negotiations this summer.

Good move for Tottenham Hotspur?

Absolutely not. Kane is Spurs’ leading man and the club need to keep him at all costs.

The transfer fee involved in any move to Real would no doubt be record-breaking in one way or another, but this would be a small consolation for the club.

Spurs have lost too many stars to the Spanish giants in recent years, with Gareth Bale and Luka Modric both forging successful careers with Los Blancos.

Tottenham need to avoid losing yet another key player to the bright lights of the Bernabeu.

Likely to happen?

Well, considering that Kane came out last week and said his aim is to play his whole career at Spurs, then no, this is not likely to happen.

While the interest from Spain is seemingly concrete, there is still no evidence to suggest that the player himself wants to leave Tottenham.

Until this happens, then any move away from north London seems unlikely.
