Newcastle United fans have reacted negatively on social media after summer signing Joselu was named in the starting eleven to face Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.
The 27-year-old completed a permanent move to St James’ Park from Stoke City during the summer transfer window and he was given the famous number nine shirt.
The Spaniard has featured in 11 matches in all competitions for the Magpies but he has failed to find the back of the net in his last four Premier League games.
Joselu has only scored two goals during his short spell with the Tyneside club, notching up strikes against West Ham United and Liverpool.
Newcastle revealed on their official Twitter account that the striker would make his ninth successive Premier League start for the club at Old Trafford.

I wish he'd give Mitrovic more of a chance. Joselu's confidence has got to be really low #nufc

I would absolutely loved to be proved wrong, but despise the fact that Joselu is starting ahead of Mitro. That side is begging for some physicality. #nufc

Newcastle will be hoping to replicate their 2015-16 campaign performances against United this time around when they managed to draw both matches.
The Magpies can lift themselves into the top-half of the league table with a win over Jose Mourinho’s side this weekend.
