Liverpool fans on Twitter were still raging about Dejan Lovren a day after they squandered a 3-0 Champions League lead against Sevilla to draw 3-3.

The Merseysiders looked to be coasting into the knockout stage for the first time since 2009 as two goals from Roberto Firmino and one from Sadio Mane put them in total control with a scintillating first-half performance.

Yet two Wissam Ben Yedder goals early in the second period, following mistakes by Alberto Moreno, and a Guido Pizarro goal in added time enabled the hosts to snatch a draw amid delirious scenes in Seville.

Moreno was the subject of ferocious criticism afterwards from pundits and funs for a pair of quick-fire errors that allowed his former side to claw back into the game before he was substituted after an hour and replaced by James Milner.

But Liverpool supporters on Twitter were equally merciless on Wednesday about the performance of centre-back Lovren, who had started a second consecutive game at the back alongside Ragnar Klavan due to an injury to Joel Matip.

Many took to social media to pan the Croatian as a liability, while others called for Liverpool to sell him in the January transfer window.
