Everton fans have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure towards summer signing Michael Keane for his performance against Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
The Toffees once again endured a tough day on the road in the Premier League as they slumped to a 4-1 defeat at St Mary’s.
A brace from Saints striker Charlie Austin alongside goals from Dusan Tadic and Steven Davis were enough to sink the Merseyside club who failed to bounce back from their terrible 5-1 midweek loss in the Europa League.
New boy Gylfi Sigurdsson provided the only positive spark with one of the goals of the season in the first-half but Everton still find themselves hovering just above the relegation zone.
Keane, 24, picked up an injury in the second-half and he was replaced by fellow summer recruit Nikola Vlasic.
The club’s supporters took to social media and the majority of them were quick to criticise centre-back for his display.

Poor first half, we still look a mess at the back. I don’t know what Keane is doing anymore. Looks like his confidence is rock bottom or his true colours are showing. Great strike for the equaliser.

Free header when 2 centre backs are marking him. We need to just stop paying Keane.

Keane is a liability

The England international has only been involved in one Premier League clean sheet during his short spell on Merseyside.
After his injury, Keane is now a doubt to face West Ham United at Goodison Park in the midweek Premier League clash.
