Georges-Kevin N’Koudou is on the fringes of the Tottenham squad and it appears inevitable that he will leave during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old midfielder has struggled to make an impact at Spurs since his arrival last summer and it would be no surprise to see him leave.

He moved to the North London club for £11million from Marseille and arrived with a reputation for being a rapid wide player with an eye for goal.

However, the right winger made just 17 appearances across all competitions last season and failed to force his way into the main plans of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

N’Koudou’s £11million deal certainly looks like money wasted right now and it’s hard to envisage him breaking into the first team on a regular basis in the near future.

The senior player has found it difficult competing for his spot and Pochettino’s willingness to promote youth from the academy could work against him.

The Frenchman has great pace and a desire to take on defenders, but is currently far away from the level of players such as Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son and is yet to score for Spurs.

He missed the beginning of the new season with a foot injury and has featured off the bench twice since his return in the EFL Cup and Champions League.

N’Koudou is another in a long line of promising players to struggle in the Premier League after making the switch from France.

The youngster was beginning to carve out a strong career at Marseille with 10 goals in 41 games for them and it would be no surprise to see him return to his homeland in January, either on a temporary or permanent basis.
