Tottenham defender Ben Davies was part of the Wales team that lost to the Republic of Ireland on Monday night – and fans ripped into him on Twitter for his performance.
Chris Coleman’s side suffered a 1-0 home defeat and that ensured they would not be a part of the 2018 World Cup.
Meanwhile, James McClean’s second-half goal gave Ireland a win and it means they have advanced to a play-off match to reach the finals of the major tournament.
Wales were hopeful of booking a ticket to Russia after a positive European Championships in 2016, but were unable to break down the Irish defence without Gareth Bale.
Spurs left-back Davies completed 90 minutes in the clash and missed a first-half opportunity on the half volley with his weaker foot, while he was also unable to prevent the cross that lead to Ireland’s winning goal.
Wales fans were not pleased with the 24-year-old display after the game and feel that his standards slipped hugely.

Played very narrow, Ireland forced us wide where we just simply weren't good enough. Ben Davies was very poor tonight

Davies has become an important player for the Welsh national side and his versatility means he has played at both centre-back and left-back for them.
He has thrived in the full-back role for Spurs this season and has made the most of Danny Rose’s absence with a long-term injury.
Davies has made eight appearances for the North London clubs so far this campaign, scoring two goals and supplying two assists in return.
