Charlie Nicholas has predicted Tottenham will beat West Ham when the pair clash in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Spurs host their London rivals Wednesday night in the League Cup and will be looking to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be in good spirits as they are on a 11-game unbeaten run across all competitions, which has seen them in a good position in both the Premier League and Champions League.

They hammered Liverpool 4-1 at the weekend in the league and have put to bed any idea that they can’t perform at their temporary home ground Wembley.

Meanwhile, West Ham are only 16th in the league table after a disappointing start to the season and under-fire manager Slaven Bilic could with a big result to ease some pressure.

Spurs have already face the Hammers once this season and picked up a 3-2 away victory at the London Stadium.

Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has predicted another win for Pochettino’s team and has tipped a 3-0 scoreline.

“This could be feisty one – but I only see one outcome,” Nicholas wrote in his column for Sky Sports. “Mauricio Pochettino impressively exposed Liverpool’s vulnerabilities on Sunday and their confidence must be sky high.

“This is a good chance to sit Harry Kane, who will hopefully need to rest his hamstring until after the Arsenal game! Fernando Llorente will come in again and Dele Alli will get another game after missing quite a few, meaning Spurs still have plenty of attacking quality.”

OPINION

Spurs are likely to rest a few players after a busy schedule in domestic and European football, but should still have enough firepower to pick up a comfortable win. West Ham look like a team short of confidence and will fear suffering a heavy defeat against very strong opposition on Wednesday. Pochettino’s team have gone slightly under the radar this season, but their draw away to Real Madrid and impressive wins in the Premier League have certainly grabbed the spotlight. Harry Kane could get a much-needed rest after his efforts, but teammate Fernando Llorente has already shown he can make a positive impact leading the Spurs line.
