Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen got the result he was so desperate for in the Championship game against Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.

There was a shock before kick-off as it was announced that talismanic defender Pontus Jansson had been dropped, with Ronaldo Vieira given his first league start of the season.

The hosts were fourth in the Championship before the game but just couldn’t match Leeds who burst out of the gates and scored through summer signing Samu Saiz after just four minutes.

Saiz got his second after just 14 minutes before Bristol City knew what had hit them.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga set up the first goal for Saiz and got his fourth of the season – and Leeds’ third today – in the 67th minute to wrap up a surprisingly easy victory for Christiansen’s men.

The only downside was the red card for defender Gaetano Berardi in the 79th minute for what appeared to be a headbutt on Matty Taylor, who was also sent off.

The win takes them up to fourth in the Championship, swapping places with their opponents who drop to sixth.

There were plenty of talking points from the game – click below for the three things we learned, including the decision which sent a wave of relief around the Leeds fans…
