Aston Villa fans have expressed their mixed reactions to Neil Taylor’s red card which he picked up against Bolton on Saturday afternoon.
Steve Bruce’s side still managed to secure a 1-0 win over the northern outfit with a penalty goal courtesy of Jonathan Kodjia in the first-half.
Taylor, 28, fouled Adam Le Fondre late on in the fourth minute of stoppage time which led to referee Jeremy Simpson showing the left-back a straight red card.
Some Villa fans described the defender as a liability, while other supporters felt that his dismissal from the pitch was completely unfair and should therefore be appealed.
This is Futbol has gathered some of the best fan reactions on Twitter:
Neil Taylor sent off today. Time for Ben Davies to move to LWB with his attacking form. Taylor is a liability.

Never a red. The ref and his assistants were completely out their depths #avfc.

When the red was brandished it was the campest push on Neil Taylor I have ever seen, he needed sending off for that!

Taylor will also be remembered for his sending off while on international duty with Wales back in March.
The 28-year-old performed a shocking challenge on Ireland skipper and Everton defender Seamus Coleman during the goalless World Cup qualifying match which resulted in the Irishman breaking his leg and remaining out of action to this day.
While the Aston Villa man was hit with a two-game ban for the tackle on Coleman, but it is likely that Steve Bruce and his bosses will try to appeal his recent red card in order to keep up their run of eight matches unbeaten in the Championship.
