Chris Sutton has hailed the quality of Rangers trio Alfredo Morelos, Graham Dorrans and Ryan Jack following their summer arrivals.

The summer signings have made an immediate impact at Ibrox this season and have become ever-presents in the starting line-up.

Pedro Caixinha is likely to use all three at the weekend as the Gers host Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox on Saturday.

The Portuguese manager has overseen big changes to his side during his tenure and has a new spine of players running through his team.

Midfield duo Dorrans and Jack have struck up a brilliant understanding in the centre of the park, while striker Morelos has hit the ground running in Scottish football.

Sutton has raved about three Rangers players ahead of their showdown against Celtic.

“The hope you give Rangers [against Celtic] is they’ve got Alfredo Morelos who has started the season strongly with eight goals, although Pedro was inferring he might have a temperament issue,” Sutton wrote in the Daily Record. “I also like Graham Dorrans and alongside him Ryan Jack is an improvement in midfield.”

Dorrans is proving to be a goalscoring threat from midfield and his team-mate Jack is operating effectively in front of the back four.

Morelos, 21, will be looking to continue his great start to his Rangers career against Celtic after scoring eight goals in his first 10 games for the Scottish giants.

OPINION

Sutton has highlighted the three best signings made by Rangers this summer and each one of them has certainly improved the team. Star striker Morelos is arguably the most exciting of the new arrivals and the youngster clearly has a vast amount of potential. The Colombian has proven he can score goals against the lesser sides in the Scottish division, but netting against Celtic would help him be perceived as one of the league’s best players.
