Pedro Caixinha can breathe a sigh of relief after his Rangers side gave him the reaction that he was looking for against Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership.

The 4-1 win was fairly routine although Rangers did go a goal behind unexpectedly after just one minute as Daniel Redmond put the home side in front.

They held the lead until the 21st minute when Declan John got the first of his brace. He added the second in the 25th minute, and goals from Daniel Candeias and a penalty from Graham Dorrans wrapped up the three points.

It wasn’t all good though.

Ryan Jack was sent off for two yellow cards – the second for a needless challenge in the middle of the park.

And new Rangers signing Carlos Pena suffered another poor display – and got a lot of flack from frustrated Rangers fans.

The 27-year-old joined from Mexican side Guadalajara over the summer for £2.7million but the midfielder has been restricted to bit-part performances and Rangers fans aren’t happy.
