Paul Ince believes that West Ham will enjoy a comfortable afternoon when they welcome Swansea City to the London Stadium this weekend.

The former West Ham midfielder is confident that Slaven Bilic’s men will secure three points against the Swans at the London Stadium on Saturday with a 2-0 win.

The Hammers have failed to win their last two Premier League games with a draw away at West Bromwich Albion followed by a derby day defeat at the hands of Tottenham last weekend.

However, Swansea have also endured a disappointing start to the campaign, suffering two defeats in their last three league matches, including consecutive home defeats against Newcastle United and Watford.

Writing in his column for the Express, Ince feels that West Ham can build on last weekend’s performance despite the loss.

“I thought The Hammers fought quite hard to try and come back into the Tottenham game last weekend, and with Swansea losing to Watford at home, I’ve got to back the home side here,” he wrote.

“Hopefully, they’re on the way up.”

OPINION

This is a must-win game for Slaven Bilic and his West Ham side. Although they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Spurs last weekend, they produced a spirited comeback in the second-half and they almost managed to nick a crucial point. Bilic will be under enormous pressure if he fails to secure a victory on Saturday especially with reports claiming that the Hammers are eyeing up Italian Carlo Ancelotti following his departure from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this week. Following a poor start, Swansea will also look at this game as a chance to get some more points on the board which could potentially leave them exposed at the back. Although we agree with Ince’s prediction of a West Ham victory, we believe that it will be a much tighter affair at the London Stadium.
