West Ham suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Tottenham on Saturday and there were plenty of things learned from the result.

The Hammers continued their average start to the season with a defeat and have now lost four of their opening six league games.

Spurs managed to secure three away points at the London Stadium as Harry Kane netted a brace in the first-half, before Christian Eriksen added a vital third in the second period.

Slaven Bilic’s side will now hope for a reaction against Swansea in their next game, but could be without Michail Antonio after he was forced off injured.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were reduced to 10 men when Serge Aurier was shown a red card in the 70th minute, which allowed the Hammers to stage a late comeback.

Javier Hernandez and Cheikhou Kouyate got on the scoresheet for hosts, but they turned out to be in vein as Spurs managed to hold out.

This Is Futbol considers three talking points from West Ham’s defeat to Spurs, including why their 30-year-old should be axed from the side.
