Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard has admitted that he would love to have the free kick ability of Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen.

Hazard, 26, is regarded as one of the outstanding players in the Premier League and won the PFA Player of the Year award back in the 2014/15 season.

The Belgian has brilliant technical ability and is being eased back into the Blues side as he returns from injury.

He has scored 72 goals in 254 appearances for Chelsea, but is not renowned for his set piece quality and either Marcos Alonso, David Luiz or Willian are usually ahead of him in the pecking order.

Meanwhile, Eriksen is renowned for being a superb free-kick take at bitter London rivals Spurs.

Hazard has confessed that he is envious of Eriksen’s quality from free kicks when asked who he would like to emulate from set-pieces.

“Today, among those who still play, I would say Christian Eriksen of Tottenham, he shoots them too well,” Hazard told France Football, as quoted by the Guardian.

OPINION

Hazard is certainly one of the best players in world football on his day, but his free kick taking may be one small area where he is lacking. Spurs playmaker Eriksen certainly is dangerous from set pieces and fans have enjoyed countless times his ability to whip the ball into the corner. Both creative attackers are critical to their sides and will need to have outstanding seasons if they are to battle the Manchester clubs for the title. Eriksen, 25, has taken his game up to another level in the last 12 months and should be considered alongside the best in the division.
