Liverpool forward Sheyi Ojo is reportedly set to face a long spell on the sidelines after suffering a shoulder injury.

The Liverpool Echo claims that the 20-year-old, who is currently on loan with Championship side Fulham, is set to be out of action for the next three months after picking up the injury in the match against Queens Park Rangers on Friday evening.

The newspaper reports that the Merseyside club’s medical staff are currently speaking to Fulham on the best way to handle the forward’s setback.

Fulham went on to win the London derby 3-2 but the youngster was stretched off just 10 minutes into the second-half after dislocating his shoulder.

Ojo has been an important member of the Fulham first-team since his loan move this summer, featuring in seven matches in all competitions an contributing with one assist.

The forward impressed during the summer with his performances for the England Under-20 national team who went on to secure the World Cup in South Korea.

OPINION

This is a massive blow for the Liverpool youngster who has impressed in the early stages of his loan spell at Craven Cottage. Ojo would surely have seen this season as the perfect opportunity to impress Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp with a string of great performances in the Championship with a promotion-chasing side. The youngster was a fantastic impact substitute for the England Under-20s in the World Cup this summer and he will only improve once he becomes a first-team regular. It is also a big blow to Fulham who are now unbeaten in three Championship matches as they lose the youngster’s pace and trickery on the flanks.
