Everton endured a shocking return to Europe in Italy tonight, when they lost 3-0 to Atalanta in the Europa League, and Liverpool fans didn’t waste any time letting Toffees fans know what they thought.
It was a shocking performance after manager Ronald Koeman had called for an aggressive response after the 3-0 loss to Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend.
Pundit Jermaine Jenas called the performance “boring” and “pathetic” on the live coverage immediately after the game, and it could have been so much worse for Koeman’s men.
Koeman himself said, “A lot went wrong, they showed more aggression and passion, and that was painful.”
It was painful for Everton fans but Liverpool fans were delighted after their 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Champions League.
