Tottenham should consider making a move for Barcelona attacker Arda Turan in the closing weeks of the transfer window.

Spanish outlet Sport claim that the Spanish giants are prepared to let the 30-year-old leave on a free transfer as they look to reshape their squad.

Spurs should be lining up a move for the Turkey international as he would be a brilliant addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Turan is renowned for being a technically gifted player that has shown his qualities at Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray.

The winger, who can also play in a central role, is recognised for his fiery attitude and he wears his heart on his sleeve.

He was once involved in a moment of madness when he threw his boot at in the direction of the linesman in 2015, but he has since calmed down following his move to Camp Nou.

Spurs do already have another player in the shape of Dele Alli that plays on the edge sometimes and these match winners can be crucial in a team.

Turan is yet to grace the Premier League, but his bullish approach would make him a good fit and he also has the quality in possession to impact matches.

The attacker made 30 appearances for Barcelona last season, scoring 13 goals and supplying seven assists in return.

Pochettino does need to bring in a few more players before the end of August and preferably wants high-profile names that can make an immediate impact on the starting line-up.

Turan would be able to compete for a starting XI position and his experience in winning domestic and European competitions would be vital.

Spurs do appear short of genuine attacking options with Christian Eriksen, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli the main options.

The Barcelona ace could give the side an added dimension by giving them genuine width and it would be a very smart move by Pochettino to pick Turan up on a free transfer.
