Everton suffered a 2-0 away defeat against Chelsea on Sunday and there were plenty of things to take away from the match.

The Toffees lost their first Premier League game of the season and it leaves them with four points from their opening three fixtures going into the international break.

Ronald Koeman’s side looked off the pace at Stamford Bridge and some people will point towards their Thursday night game in their Europa League qualifier.

Chelsea dominated the match throughout and got their decisive goals in the first-half, with Spanish duo Cesc Fabregas and Alvaro Morata getting on the scoresheet.

The Merseyside club were without several first teamers who are on a long injury list, but still managed to put together a starting line-up that would have hoped for a more competitive game.

This Is Futbol considers three talking points from Everton’s defeat to Chelsea, including how Koeman must now strengthen this area in the pitch in the remainder of the transfer window.
