Kevin Wimmer has completed his move to Stoke from Tottenham on Tuesday morning – and the Spurs fans are disappointed on Twitter that they have allowed the defender to leave.
The 24-year-old has ended his two-year spell with the north London club after making 31 appearances for them.
Stoke confirmed on their official Twitter account that they have signed the Austria international for £18million and that he has signed a five-year deal.

Wimmer was mainly used as a back-up option during his time under Mauricio Pochettino and was unable to dislodge the formidable centre-back partnership of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
However, Spurs fans on social media are frustrated with the £18million sale of the defender and feel that his departure has weakened their squad.

Thought he was actually very good, lost some strength in depth here.

So overstaffed with talent in one position that we have to let a quality player go when we are so glaringly deficient in other positions ?

We are so going to regret this…

Wimmer has now linked up with Stoke to pursue regular football and will compete for a spot alongside the likes of Ryan Shawcross, Kurt Zouma and Bruno Martins-Indi.
The ball-playing centre-back excelled as cover during his time for Spurs and did play an important role in the 2015/16 campaign.
However, he made just 10 appearances last season and found it very difficult to get chances in a settled starting line-up.
Spurs have already secured the £42million signing of defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax to bolster their squad and he could be seen as a replacement for Wimmer, while they have also reportedly agreed a deal to sign 19-year-old defender Juan Foyth from Estudiantes.
