New-look Tottenham side with three reported targets

Defence

Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper) – Spurs captain Hugo Lloris remains one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and is set for another season as number one at White Hart Lane.

Davinson Sanchez (Centre-Back) – The Times report that Spurs are confident of securing a £40million deal for Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez, which could see him slot into the defence if he moved. The 21-year-old centre-back is a huge talent that has the technical ability to grace the Premier League and would be a good fit for Pochettino’s XI.

Toby Alderweireld (Centre-back) – Belgian ace Toby Alderweirled is arguably the best defender in the league and is likely to feature in most games for the club this season. He would be comfortable in this formation in the centre of the defence, where he can help dictate play and organise his team.

Jan Vertonghen (Centre-back) – The left-footed defender is comfortable in a 3-4-3 formation and has proven to be a very consistent player for Spurs in recent years. He usually partners Alderweireld at the back, but the potential arrival of Sanchez could see a three-man system more frequently used.
