Interest is mounting in Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent with both Middlesbrough and Sunderland among a number of looking into him, according to a report.

The Sun have claimed on their live transfer blog (Thursday) that with clubs looking to take the 20-year-old left-winger on a temporary move away from Anfield this summer manager Jurgen Klopp is set to make a late eleventh hour decision on where his future will lie.

Kent spent the last campaign on loan in the Championship with Barnsley with his one and only Liverpool appearance coming as far back as January 2016 in an FA Cup tie against Exeter.

The youngster still has two years left on his contract on Merseyside and here, This Is Futbol has weighed up whether another loan will be good for the Reds and if Klopp is likely to allow it.

Good move for Liverpool?

Another loan move makes the most sense for Liverpool at this stage. It is clear that Kent is not going to get any first team football in the Reds team this season, especially after the signings of wide duo Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer. It would actually be quite surprising if Kent ever makes it as a regular in the Liverpool first team and therefore Klopp may actually be deciding whether to let him go temporarily, or permanently now that he’s 20. However, for now a loan move certainly suits Liverpool and Klopp must sanction one to benefit Kent’s long-term career.

Likely to happen?

As mentioned Kent is never going to get into the current Liverpool team and it will be highly surprising if Klopp doesn’t allow the youngster to move on loan, rather than walking back into the Under-23s. The pacey winger has already enjoyed two loan spells in his career with both Coventry and Barnsley and if he is to continue his progression then he needs to be sent out elsewhere. Therefore, it is more than likely that Kent will not be at Anfield by the 11.00-deadline.
