Celtic cruised past Lee McCulloch’s Kilmarnock in Saturday’s early Scottish Premiership kick-off at Rugby Park, as Brendan Rodgers’ men earned a 2-0 victory.

The former Liverpool boss shuffled the pack before the start of the match to field a second-string side, that included rookies Kundai Benyu, Kristoffer Ajer, Calvin Miller and Anthony Ralston.

Despite the changes, the Hoops earned all three points as Tom Rogic’s solo run saw him reach the byline before he pulled the ball back to James Forrest who finished, before Callum McGregor grabbed Celtic’s second at the death.

However, the narrow win will give Rodgers plenty to think about ahead of Tuesday night’s clash against FC Astana in the second leg of their Champions League play-off round, as they hold a first-leg advantage of 5-0.
