Celtic fans savaged attacker Kundai Benyu after his performance in the 2-0 win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday.
Benyu, 19, only signed for the Bhoys in June when he arrived from Ipswich and penned a four-year deal, however in his first start in the Scottish Premiership, he didn’t leave a great impression on the supporters.
Saturday saw Benyu feature in an unexpected starting line-up as Rodgers made an array of changes from the mid-week win over Kazakhstan side Astana in the Champions League play-offs.
Although there were a host of replacements, that didn’t seem harm the Hoops’ chances of a win, who continued their victorious ways thanks to goals in each half from James Forrest and the ever-reliable Callum McGregor.
Benyu impressed some fans with his display in the Celtic attack before he was replaced by right-back Mikael Lustig in the 78th minute.
However the majority of the Hoops’ supporters thought that Benyu was nowhere near the quality that is needed in the first-team having spent last season on loan with English non-league side Aldershot, with one fan even saying that his display was “rotten.”

Benyu failed to earn a single senior appearance for Ipswich but was in top form for Aldershot last season as he scored five goals and supplied three assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.
