Five contenders to replace Bridcutt as Leeds captain

|

5. Chris Wood

Wood, 25, was Leeds’ best player without a shadow of doubt last season as he fired home a stupendous 30 goals in all competitions to finish miles above any of his teammates in the goalscoring rankings.

Premier League clubs have reportedly been sniffing around the New Zealand international as a result, but the Leeds’ number nine has remained at Elland Road so far this window.

The former Leicester ace is certainly in with a shout of the armband, with Wood captaining New Zealand at the Confederations Cup. But with strikers rarely given the duty of captain, it is unlikely he will be given the nod.
