Rangers fans have expressed their delight on social media after the club confirmed the signing of Scottish midfielder Graham Dorrans on Thursday afternoon.

The SPL side announced on their official Twitter account that the 30-year-old has completed his transfer from Championship side Norwich City for an undisclosed fee and he has signed a three-year contract at Ibrox.

Dorrans is Rangers’ ninth signing of a hectic summer but one of the few with experience of Scottish football.

After the club announced the news, Rangers supporters took to social media to express their opinion and the reaction to the signing was extremely positive with the majority of fans excited at the prospect of watching Dorrans perform at Ibrox next season.

There were a few Rangers supporters who felt that the club should have completed the deal before last week as they believed that Dorrans could have helped the team progress in the Europa League.

The Glaswegian club were dumped out of the European competition on Tuesday evening when they suffered a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Luxembourg side Progres Niederkorn.

The midfielder does not have too much experience playing in the SPL as he only made a total of nine appearances in the top flight during his spell for Livingston in the 2005-06 season.

Dorrans has enjoyed a fine career playing in England, featuring in over 200 matches in the Premier League and the Championship.

The Scotland international has notched up a total of 51 goals throughout his playing career.
