Young defender Tyias Browning has joined Sunderland on a season-long loan after Everton agreed to the terms of his move, it was confirmed on Saturday.

The Black Cats announced on their official Twitter account and website that the 23-year-old right-back had completed a temporary move to the Stadium of Light.

This will mark the Everton academy graduates third loan spell away from the club having previously spent time at each of Wigan and Preston in England’s second tier.

It was at Preston last season where he worked with Simon Grayson, who is now the manager of Sunderland and it is clear that the experienced manager was keen to reunite with the former England Under-19 international.

Browning will be keen to see more first team football with the north east club as he looks to break into the Toffees’ team in the future.

However, he has also played just nine times for the Everton first team and at his age alongside his contract set to expire in 2019 time could now be against the full-back.

But, his immediate concern will be in helping Sunderland make an instant return to the Premier League following their relegation from the top-flight last season.
