Midfield enforcer Ruben Neves has completed a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee, it has been announced.

The 20-year-old has joined the Championship side from Portuguese giants FC Porto and he has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Molineux.

The Midlands club confirmed the news on their official website and their official Twitter account on Saturday morning.

The Portuguese midfielder becomes the club’s fifth signing of the summer after Phil Ofusu-Ayeh, Roderick, Barry Douglas and Ryan Bennett all completed deals to Molineux.

It will be a new challenge for the youngster as he has never experienced playing football in England.

Neves will be familiar with new Wolves boss Nuno Espirtio Santo as he was Porto’s manager last season and the midfielder impressed with his performances.

The youngster leaves Porto having made a total of 93 first-team appearances, contributing with four goals and three assists.

Neves featured for the Portugal Under-21 national team which competed in the European Championships in Poland this summer, playing the full 90 minutes in every single match.

The midfielder has also featured for the senior team, making a total of two international appearances in 2015.

Wolves will be hopeful that the Portuguese youngster can adapt to life in the Championship as quickly as possible and help them mount a promotion push.
