Aston Villa fans have been left divided on Twitter after it was reported the club are on the verge of signing Hull City midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady.

It is believed that the Egyptian international has left his side’s pre-season training camp in order to hold talks with the Midlands club, ahead of a potential transfer.
However, Villa fans were not left best pleased with the news, and there appeared to be a divide on social media over whether or not he would prove to be a worthwhile signing.

What a shame about Elmohamady. Such a waste of the right-sided talent that we already have. Bruce is wrong here #AVFC https://t.co/zc7hIONy3o

Elmohamady isn't better than Adomah and if he plays RB/RWB he isn't better than Bree. Awful transfer #avfc

If ever there was a signing that didn't need to happen, it's Elmohamady#AVFC

The versatile right midfielder, who can also play at right-back, appeared 37 appearances for Hull during their ill fated 2016/17 campaign, failing to find the back of the net and providing just two assists for his team mates.
If the transfer goes through, it will prove to be the third time that the 77-cap Egypt international has joined up with manager Steve Bruce, with the 56-year-old having secured his signing at Sunderland before taking him to Hull.
Elmohamady’s arrival would be the third new signing of the summer for Villa, having already seen Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone arrive on loan, while John Terry joined on a free transfer and has already been named the club’s new captain.
