Tottenham could potentially make a £50million-plus profit this summer if they pursue Hoffenheim defender Jeremy Toljan to replace Kyle Walker.

The Evening Standard report that Spurs are eyeing the 22-year-old this summer and that he is available for a bargain £3.1million price.

The north London club are looking for a new right-back to bolster their squad following the departure of Walker to Manchester City for a staggering £54million.

It is believed that Spurs are able to afford Toljan’s salary demands and they must now wrap up a deal for the highly rated talent.

A £50million-plus profit would be a perfect example of the shrewd approach of chairman Daniel Levy in the transfer market, while most of their Premier League rivals decide to spend the big money on proven talents.

Spurs have great faith in developing their own youngsters and remain the only top flight team in England yet to make a new signing in the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino needs a new full-back in his squad to replace Walker and ideally needs two senior right-backs to rotate.

Kieran Trippier is good enough to become the first-choice option in the upcoming campaign following his impressive performances, meaning Spurs only need an understudy that can fill in when required.

Toljan is a brilliant candidate and would be an absolute steal at just £3.1million.

The Germany Under-21 international has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Hoffenheim and that will allow for him to leave on the cheap.

He made 21 appearances across all competitions last season and was only held back by a spate of injuries.

Toljan is a versatile ace that can play in either full-back position or as a winger and Spurs could definitely use him as a right-back for the new season.
