Former Rangers star Vladimir Weiss has said he would love to return to the club if it was up to him.

The Slovakian winger made 35 appearances for the club during a loan spell from Manchester City back in 2010, but the move was not made permanent as he saw himself shipped off to Espanyol on another temporary deal the season after.

However, the attacker, who was a huge fans favourite during his Ibrox stint, has opened up about a potential return to the club, replying to a fan on his personal Twitter account indicating he would be open to the move:

He scored five goals and provided ten assists for the club during his year-long loan stint, helping his side to the Europa League round of 16 stage, but a fractured foot in April cut his season short.

The 27-year-old is currently playing for Qatari side Al Gharafa having joined from rival club Lekhwiya in January 2016, and scored 10 goals in 24 appearances last season.

He is also still a key member of the Slovakia international side, having turned out 58 times since his debut in a 1-1 draw with Iceland back in 2009.

His last appearance for his country came back in June as he scored the opener in his side’s 2-1 World Cup qualifying victory over Lithuania in June, leaving them second in group F behind England.

Rangers have already had a very busy transfer window as Pedro Caixinha looks to overhaul the playing staff at the club.

However, despite the nine new arrivals, the Gers have started their new campaign in the worst possible way, having suffered a shock defeat to Luxembourg side Progres Niederkorn to crash out of the Europa League qualifiers.
