The former Reading defender’s stock has never been higher after spending last season on loan with German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
Helping his temporary side escape a relegation dogfight and sit in a comfortable 11th place in the top tier of German football, 24-year-old Hector kept eight clean sheets in 27 appearances and inspired his side to a place in the final of the German Cup.
Italian outlet Calcio Dangolo claimed last month that Serie A side Lazio are interested in signing Jozo Simunovic from Celtic this summer, and replacing the Croat with Hector would prove a shrewd bit of business by Rodgers.
