Brendan Rodgers is reportedly closing in on a move to sign Chelsea attacker Charly Musonda this summer but should abandon those plans and weigh up moves for three other Stamford Bridge starlets.
The Daily Mail quoted Rodgers as saying he is close to completing a move for a young playmaker without revealing the identity of that man, while the report claimed the player in question was in fact Musonda.
“Celtic have been great in trying to make it happen and if we can close the deal out, it will be a high level of quality,” Rodgers said. “It’s good money that will be spent on the player who is of a substantial pedigree and quality.”
Musonda has risen through the ranks at Chelsea and quickly established himself as one of the best up-and-coming talents produced by the west London outfit, but is still yet to make a senior appearance for Antonio Conte’s side.
This Is Futbol believes Celtic should consider three other Chelsea players, as Musonda’s form with La Liga side Real Betis saw him score just once in 24 games between January 2016 and January 2017.
