Rangers should make the emphatic decision to sell midfielder Josh Windass just 12 months after bringing him to Ibrox.

The 23-year-old failed to make a serious impact at Ibrox last season and the arrival of some quality signings means he shouldn’t be getting many minutes in the upcoming campaign.

HITC Sport claim that Championship duo QPR and Brentford are lining up moves for the Englishman, with his future in Scotland unclear.

The Gers need to cash in on the attacking midfielder as he didn’t show the kind of form last campaign that warrants a starting position.

Windass was expected to be a strong source of goals from the centre of the park after netting 17 times for Acrrington Stanley in the 2015/16 campaign.

However, he struggled to deliver the same output when he joined Rangers and managed just one goals in 27 games last season.

He still has plenty of time to develop at the age of just 23, but the pressure on players at Ibrox means he should continue his development elsewhere.

Rangers’ exit from Europe also means that Caixinha’s squad will now have a reduced fixture list and the need for rotation will not be so great.

They have plenty of alternative options to Windass who should prove a much great threat, including the likes of Niko Kranjcar, Carlos Pena and Graham Dorrans.

Pedro Caixinha has ambition for his side to try and compete at the top-end of the table, but that will be impossible unless they significantly improve personnel from last season and that means letting Windass go.
