West Ham United are the new front runners to sign Burnley striker Andre Gray, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have placed the East London club at 7/4 to secure the signature of the 26-year-old forward during the summer transfer window.
The Hammers have seen their odds slashed since last week when Sky Bet placed them as 16/1 outsiders whilst fellow Premier League side Everton were the favourites to sign the centre-forward.
West Ham are currently ahead of a host of Premier League sides who are also credited with an interest in signing Gray this summer with Everton placed at 3/1 and Newcastle United at 11/1.
Slaven Bilic’s side struggled to stick the ball into the back of the net last season as attacking midfielder Michail Antonio finished as the club’s top goalscorer with only nine strikes to his name.
West Ham are going to need some firepower next season if they want to mount a serious challenge on the European places.
Gray has been one of Burnley’s best performers since joining the club two years ago.
The striker enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League last season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists.
The centre-forward’s contribution helped Burnley to finish in 16th place, six points clear of the relegation zone.
