Slaven Bilic would finally end his hunt for a proven Premier League goalscorer by rivalling Ligue 1 outfit Rennes for Chelsea striker Loic Remy.

French newspaper L’Equipe claim Ligue 1 outfit Rennes are in talks to sign the 30-year-old forward, who is allowed to leave Chelsea this summer after a disappointing loan spell with Crystal Palace.

The report claims Rennes are desperate to relaunch Remy’s faltering career at both club level and on the international scene, after making just eight senior appearances with the Eagles during his season-long loan spell.

West Ham have made just one senior signing this summer, bringing Manchester icon Pablo Zabaleta to the London Stadium on a free transfer but are likely to be in the market for a new striker.

This Is FutbolĀ analyses three reasons why the former Marseille striker would give Bilic the answer to his striker problems in east London as the Hammers look to push on with their summer activity.
