West Ham United are hopeful of completing a stunning summer move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart in the “next few days”, according to the Evening Standard.

This follows up from the story in the Daily Mail which reported that the 30-year-old has stayed away from City’s pre-season tour to the US as he looks to move away from Manchester this summer.

The newspaper claims that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is desperate to wrap up the deal as soon as possible with the belief that the goalkeeper’s arrival would be a huge statement for the club’s ambitions.

It is said that the Manchester club are seeking to receive £20million for the England international but the Hammers are planning to negotiate a one-year loan deal.

West Ham appear to be stepping up their interest in bringing new faces to the London Stadium next season as the Telegraph recently reported that the Hammers are eager to sign attacking players Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnatovic this summer.

The Hammers have only managed to snap up full-back Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer during the summer transfer window.

Hart has spent a decade at the Manchester club and he has been a major part of their recent success, winning two Premier League titles, two League Cup trophies and an FA Cup.

New City boss Pep Guardiola decided to send Hart out on loan last season to Italian side Torino where the goalkeeper kept a total of six clean sheets in 38 appearances.

Hart’s currently has two years remaining on his City contract.
