Tottenham might need to cash in on Moussa Sissoko to sign Everton playmaker Ross Barkley this summer, according to Bleacher Report.

The sport site claim that Barkley is likely to be available for a fee of around £30million, which is the same sum that the Merseysiders are expected to pay if they can persuade Swansea City to sell Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Bleacher Report state that Tottenham could have to first offload Sissoko, who coincidentally was signed for £30million from Newcastle United last August, if they are “serious” after pushing through the signing of the Everton academy product.

Given that the France international has four years remaining on his Spurs contract, he is a huge asset even though he was a fringe player in his debut campaign.

Intriguingly, Sky Sports claim on their website that Spurs are pursuing a No10 and have set their sights on Barkley, who has snubbed his club’s offer of a new contract.

Sky report that Tottenham are not in the market to sign Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and manager Mauricio Pochettino’s efforts are focused on landing the 23-year-old Toffee and signing a replacement right-back if, as expected, Kyle Walker departs for Manchester City.

Bleacher Report explain that there is a strong possibility that Barkley could end up at White Hart Lane after he snubbed Everton’s offer of a new contract to replace his current deal, which expires in 12 months.

Tottenham have not yet sealed any transfers, incoming or outgoing, although reports suggest they are working busily behind the scenes.

Managed Ronald Koeman has issued Barkley with a public ultimatum that he will only be part of his plans for next season if he signs fresh terms.

The England international had a mixed 2016-17 campaign, interspersing outstanding displays with poor ones that incurred Koeman’s wrath, and Everton have spent £24million on a new playmaker in Davy Klaassen.
