Tottenham are reportedly ready to ambush Leicester’s bid to sign Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City – and Spurs fans have urged their club to snare the striker.
The Sun claim that the north Londoners may sign Iheanacho as part of a remarkable player-plus-cash deal that would take Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
It is said that extensive talks between City and Spurs over a deal for Walker have failed to result in an agreement and the Nigerian striker could now become involved as a makeweight.
Tottenham want £50million for Walker, while City value Iheanacho at around the £20million mark and Leicester have tabled an offer that matches the valuation.
The Sun report that Mauricio Pochettino is a big admirer of the Nigerian forward and there is now a possibility that the player and a cash sum of £30million will be enough to pave the way for Walker, 27, to complete a protracted move to City.
Tottenham fans are excited at the impact that prolific goal-getter Iheanacho could make at White Hart Lane, with many hailing him as the ideal cover for talismanic spearhead Harry Kane.

The arrival of Tottenham on the scene could change the picture for Iheanacho, even though he would be in a similar situation as he is at City, where he played second fiddle to Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus last season.
His goal record since breaking into the City team is striking and there is some surprise among the club’s fanbase that Pep Guardiola is willing to sell him.
Iheanacho has scored 21 goals in 64 matches for the Premier League club and has an excellent goals-per-minutes ratio.
